The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) is often used by others to analyze trends of driving-related behaviors, identify impacts of legislation, and determine effects of programs. However, FARS drug data may have been used to reach conclusions without a thorough understanding of its limitations. Presenters identified what these limitations are and how to overcome them.
